AFFF Foam (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) Systems such as the ones below in the photo can be used for:

Class A fires – Flammable solids such as wood, paper and textiles

Class B fires – Flammable liquids such as petrol, diesel and paint

This system is the ideal one to use when both Class A and B risks are both present.

Foam systems work by smothering the flame, sealing the surface thus preventing re-ignition, in addition to this foam possesses cooling properties. The most common applications for these are: Heavy Plant, Forestry Machines, Agricultural Vehicles, Mobility Vehicles, Buses and Marine.

All AFFF Foam systems manufactured by Ignis Automatic Fire Suppression Systems Ltd contain added antifreeze giving protection up to -20°C
